Meet our Retirees Representative and Fundraiser Representative:

Angela Green



Angela grew up on Long Island and graduated from Uniondale High School. Soon after she left with an enlistment to the United States Army. She remained on active duty for about three years from 1985-1988.

Angela continued military service with the US Army Reserve, from May 1988 until her retirement in 2019. She served with multiple units, last with the HHC, 333** Military Police Brigade, as their Brigade Movement Coordinator. Angela was a Sergeant First Class and has held many positions above her rank; as a Commander, First Sergeant, Operations Officer and Operations Sergeant Major.

She has been assigned to the 423d Military Police Company, deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, 1997-1998, to the 310*h Military Police Battalion, deployed twice to Iraq-1" - Jan 03-May 04 and 2nd – April 06 - Aug 07.

Angela has many awards for her achievements and service. Her highest award was received on her last deployment, a (DMSM) - Defense Meritorious Service Medal- (a joint service award) by the 16th Military Police Brigade (AIRBOURNE), to which she was assigned on her last deployment to Iraq.



Angela was sworn into the New York City Police Department on Sep 29, 2000. She was assigned to the76 Precinct and held multiple positions there.

She continues to volunteer and dedicate herself to the needs of others. She is a 2020 Graduate at John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice.

 



After the tragic day of 9/11, she spent time on duty at Ground Zero. Time she will never forget. She retired early in 2013, from her last assignment in the Chief of Department OCD, Domestic Violence Unit; Due to 9-11 related Breast Cancer, she is now a 9-year Cancer survivor.

Despite her continued struggle from her illness, Angela remains intensively and enthusiastically, serving her community with many Veterans and Police groups.



Angela was honored by the NYPD Legion and the PEA at the Women in Military Ceremony in 2024. We thank Angela for fighting for our freedom and protecting the city while in the armed forces. We thank her for her selfless service and dedication.

You will always see Angela at our monthly meetings, our annual Scholarship Dinner Dance and countless events throughout the calendar year.

You might know her best as the organizer and planner of the yearly Women’s Brunch. Angela keeps the bridge between the current and retired women of the NYPD, uniform and civilian.

Make sure you say hi to Angela at the next event. She is full of NYPD knowledge , PEA history and is a great role model.
